TEXACO NAMES WILLIAM C. BOUSQUETTE AS SENIOR VICE PRESIDENT AND CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER.

WHITE PLAINS, N.Y.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 3, 1995--Texaco Inc. Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Alfred C. DeCrane, Jr., announced today that William C. Bousquette is joining Texaco and will serve as Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of the company, effective January 27, 1995. Bousquette currently is the Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Tandy Corporation.

As Chief Financial Officer, Bousquette will report to DeCrane and assume oversight responsibility for the Comptroller's Department, Finance Department, Risk Management Department, Tax Department and the Investor Relations and Shareholder Services Group. He succeeds Vice Chairman Allen J. Krowe as Chief Financial Officer, who will continue his responsibilities as Vice Chairman of the company.

In making the announcement, DeCrane said: "Bill Bousquette brings to Texaco a broad industrial, manufacturing and financial background, along with an excellent combination of leadership skills and management expertise in strategic restructuring, retail marketing and operations that excel in low cost. Bill's operational and management experience in key fiscal areas has established him as a proven leader and mentor for our fiscal team, which is already one of the strongest in the industry."

Bousquette joined Tandy in 1990 as Chief Financial Officer. He served in 1993 as Chief Executive Officer, TE Electronics, a position established to execute Tandy's restructuring program. Tandy, through its chain of retail outlets, including Radio Shack, Computer City and the Incredible Universe mega-stores, distributes consumer products and personal computers. Annual revenues of the Fort Worth, Texas-based company are about $5 billion. As Chief Financial Officer at Tandy, Bousquette worked closely with the company's Chief Executive Officer and the board of directors to redirect the company's focus to a high growth retail strategy.

Bousquette, 58, was born in Detroit and earned a bachelor's and master's degree in business administration from the University of Detroit in 1956 and 1960, respectively.

Bousquette joined Ford Motor Company in 1957, serving in various financial capacities, including management positions on the corporate staff. In 1981 he joined Rockwell International as Vice President, Financial Controls, and in 1984 joined Emerson Electric Company serving as Executive Vice President and as Chief Financial Officer.

Bousquette serves on the boards of directors of Cyprus Amax Minerals Company and O'Sullivan Industries. -0-
