TERROR ATTACKS REMEMBERED OFFICIALS TO DEDICATE MEMORIAL WALL.

The Antelope Valley
 observances remembering those killed in the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks and honoring those who risked their lives to help them will include the dedications of a memorial wall and a giant outdoor mural of a U.S. flag.

At 10a.m. today dignitaries will unveil a memorial wall in George Lane George Lane (born 1940 ) is a British "mental calculator" and author. He is a three-times world champion and one of only three Grandmasters of Mental Calculation, as recognised by the Mind Sports Organisation.  Park in Quartz Hill honoring military personnel, law enforcement and firefighters.

Supervisor Michael D. Antonovich Michael Dennis Antonovich (born 1939 in Los Angeles, California) is a member of the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors representing the Fifth District, which covers northern Los Angeles County, the Antelope, Santa Clarita, Pasadena, and parts of the San Fernando and San , husband-and-wife state lawmakers George and Sharon Runner, and Edwards Air Force Base Edwards Air Force Base, U.S. military installation, 301,000 acres (121,805 hectares), S Calif., NE of Lancaster; est. 1933. It is one of the largest air force bases in the United States and has the world's longest runway.  Flight Test Center Vice Cmdr. Col. Gary Plum are scheduled to speak.

Quartz Hill resident Danny Brooks donated three bronze plaques, and county park workers created the wall.

Joe Walker Middle School's concert band will play ``God Bless America,'' and the Lancaster High School Lancaster High School may refer to:
  • Lancaster High School (Lancaster, California)
  • Lancaster High School (Lancaster, New York)
  • Lancaster High School (Lancaster, Texas) in Lancaster, Texas
  • Lancaster High School (Ohio) in Lancaster, Ohio
 Air Force Junior ROTC color guard and Boy Scout Troop 39 will also participate.

At 5:30p.m. today, Lancaster Elks Lodge members will dedicate a 13-by-24-foot mural of an American flag on the exterior of the lodge building, 240 E. Avenue K, Lancaster.
