 TERADYNE PROMOTES PRESTRIDGE, ROBBINS, NAMES THEM TO BOARD
 BOSTON, April 6 /PRNewswire/ -- Teradyne, Inc (NYSE: TER) today announced the appointments of James Prestridge and Owen Robbins as executive vice presidents and the nominations of both for election to the company's board of directors at the May 28 stockholders' meeting.
 Prestridge, most recently vice president and manager of Teradyne's Semiconductor Test Group, joined the company in 1969 and became vice president for sales in 1972 and manager of the Semiconductor Test Division in 1976. He is a graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy and received his MBA from Harvard in 1960. He is a resident of Westlake Village, Calif.
 Robbins, who is Teradyne's chief financial officer, joined the company in 1970 and became treasurer in 1971 and vice president, finance in 1977. He is a graduate of DePaw University and received his MBA from Harvard in 1953. He is a resident of Weston, Mass.
 The elections of Prestridge and Robbins, plus the return of Daniel Gregory to the board after a one-year absence, will bring the number of directors to 11.
 Teradyne is a manufacturer of test and connection systems for the electronics and telecommunications industries.
