TERADYNE NAMES EXECUTIVE VICE PRESIDENT

 BOSTON, Jan. 11 /PRNewswire/ -- Teradyne (NYSE: TER) today announced the appointment of George Chamillard, who has been vice president and general manager of Teradyne's Connection Systems Division in Nashua, N.H., as executive vice president. He will relocate to the company's Boston headquarters as a member of Teradyne's Executive Committee. Other members of this newly formed Committee are Executive Vice Presidents Owen Robbins and James Prestridge.
 Chamillard, who is 55, joined Teradyne in 1969 as a production engineer, later becoming quality manager and manager of Central Manufacturing. In 1975 he was appointed operations manager of the Semiconductor Test Division in California, and in 1981 he returned to Boston as vice president for ATE Operations. In 1984 he was appointed vice president for sales at the Connection Systems Division, becoming general manager of that division in 1986.
 He received his BS and MBA degrees from Northeastern University.
 Teradyne is a major manufacturer of automatic test equipment for the electronics and telecommunications industries, with sales of over $500 million. Its stock symbol is listed on the New York Stock Exchange.
