TEPPCO Names Barry R. Pearl President and Chief Operating Officer.

HOUSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 9, 2001

Texas Eastern Products Pipeline Company, LLC, the general partner of TEPPCO Partners, L.P. (NYSE:TPP), announced today that Barry R. Pearl will join the company as president and chief operating officer effective Feb. 12. As president and COO, Pearl will be responsible for TEPPCO's day-to-day operating and commercial activities, and oversee a number of support functions including engineering, procurement, right-of-way and information technology.

"Barry has extensive experience in the pipeline industry in operations, business development and finance. Pearl comes to TEPPCO from Maverick Tube Corporation in St. Louis, Mo., where he was vice president of finance and CFO. During his tenure, Maverick grew significantly by acquiring Canadian-based Prudential Steel Ltd. Before joining Maverick, he served as vice president of operations, vice president of business development and as CFO of Santa Fe Pacific Pipeline Partners, L.P., from 1984 to 1998. Pearl also served as vice president and general manager of Calnev Pipeline Company, which at that time was owned by Champlin Petroleum Company. Pearl began his career at Champlin in 1974.

Pearl holds a bachelor of arts degree in mathematics and a minor in economics from Indiana University, a master of arts degree in operations research from Yale University and a master of business administration degree from the University of Denver. He is married with two children and served as an officer in the U.S. Air Force.
