THIS is the girl who finally spells the end for Doctor Who.
David Tennant David Tennant is the stage name of David John McDonald (born 18 April 1971), a Scottish actor from Bathgate, West Lothian, best known for portraying the tenth incarnation of the Doctor in the television series Doctor Who. is giving up playing the time traveller to star in a romantic comedy with The Devil Wears Prada star Emily Blunt.
He will take the starring role in movie Cheerful Weather For The Wedding.
Filming of the romantic comedy is due to start next spring - after shooting for Doctor Who has finished.
His role confirms speculation that he won't be returning for a fourth series as the Doctor.
He is filming the second series and has reportedly agreed a deal to come back for a third with the Doctor's latest gorgeous assistant Martha played by Freema Agyeman Freema Agyeman (born 1979 in Finsbury Park, London ) is an English actress whose first notable appearance was in the ITV soap opera Crossroads. She is best known for playing medical student Martha Jones, companion of the Tenth Doctor in the BBC science .
Clockwork Pictures will start shooting the multi-million-pound movie in May - when Tennant's contract as the Doctor expires.

It tells the story of a chilly country wedding in the middle of winter. Emily, 23, who plays the reluctant fiancAe, has enjoyed outstanding reviews as a caustic, put-upon assistant to Miranda, Meryl Streep's lead role in The Devil Wears Prada.

David told Doctor Who magazine last week that he wanted to leave the series on a high.
He said: "There's an element of being in a long-running show that's a gamble, because I am 35 now.
"It is judging the right moment to go. I think I now know how many series I'm going to do - but I think it would be stupid of me to say more than that."
The next series of Doctor Who hits the TV screens in March.
