, Inc. announced today that it has implemented the first phase of its fraud management system, SecureWave(TM) for TELUS TELUS Telemetric Universal Sensor , one of Canada's leading telecommunications companies.

SecureWave(TM) will be used by TELUS to monitor, detect, and reduce cases of fraud and deliver key statistical information regarding its network for planning and accounting purposes. Later phases to include SOTAS' advanced profiling system, as well as additional data sources to ensure a fully functional and robust fraud detection system.

"With the implementation of this phase of the SOTAS SecureWave(TM) system, we are continuing our advances in fraud detection and management, while bringing service and value to our customers," said Tammy Bach, director of operations support, TELUS corporate security.

The $4.2 million installation ensures that TELUS will have the SOTAS advanced fraud management system, SecureWave(TM), in place to measure and manage irregular or unauthorized usage of their network. The SOTAS fraud management system, using a unique data-mining function, helps prevent loss due to fraud and provides a software platform to TELUS to facilitate more efficient management of its network.

The SOTAS applications level solution is unique in its full compatibility with existing legacy systems and databases and the ability to summarize the correlated data into meaningful management reports and activity summaries.

"We are happy to be an integral part of TELUS' fraud management and control efforts. We are also dedicated to building a long-lasting support and service relationship with TELUS by providing them with the fraud management tools and capabilities that they need to avert fraud losses," said Robin Rice, SOTAS director of worldwide logistics.

Using innovative technology to gather valuable information from a diverse set of existing data sources throughout a service provider's operations, SOTAS' fraud management tools will provide TELUS timely, accurate, and detailed information in order to better monitor fraud on its network, make appropriate decisions and respond with corrective actions.
