TELEKURS INTRODUCES TOPIC PLUS IN THE U.S.

NEW YORK, Oct. 12 /PRNewswire/ -- Telekurs North America, the U.S. subsidiary of the world's leading global securities information company, has announced the U.S. introduction of TOPIC PLUS, Telekurs' proprietary replacement for the London Stock Exchange's TOPIC service. A joint- venture product of Telekurs and the London Stock Exchange, TOPIC PLUS not only provides the same full coverage of the London equity market as TOPIC, including over 80,000 electronic pages of broker research, but also provides expanded coverage of European and Asian securities.
"Because TOPIC PLUS offers users the same screen colors, keystrokes and information placement as the current TOPIC terminals, existing customers will require virtually no learning curve to migrate to TOPIC PLUS," said Kenneth Marlin, president of Telekurs North America. "However, they will be rewarded by expanded market coverage, powerful new functionality, Windows-based flexibility, and charting software for graphic analysis."
Marlin continued, "TOPIC PLUS users can keep better track of market events with snap-quote and limit-alert functions and of worldwide events with an expanded array of news services, a news ticker display, news alerts and story-search capability. The Windows-based technology and LAN networking also provide for a great flexibility in manipulating the data -- users can easily copy graphics, news or pricing information from the TOPIC PLUS screen into a spreadsheet or word-processing application and share it across their network."
TOPIC PLUS will be marketed to existing and new customers in the U.S. and U.K. by Telekurs.
Telekurs is the world's leading supplier to the trading, brokerage and investment communities of realtime, end-of-day, and close-of-market pricing, as well as corporate announcements, fundamental and other financial information on publicly traded securities. Telekurs' global databases include coverage of more than 400,000 instruments from more than 60 countries with information from more than 400 exchanges and contributors and 200 other sources. Telekurs also offers options- analytic and risk-management applications for traders of futures, equities and global derivatives.
On Thursday, Oct. 14, from 5:30 - 8 p.m., TOPIC PLUS will be demonstrated at the Telekurs Open House, One State Street Plaza, New York.
