 TEKTRONIX TO APPOINT YOCAM PRESIDENT AND CHIEF OPERATING OFFICER;
 FORMER APPLE COMPUTER EXECUTIVE JOINS COMPANY SEPT. 14
 WILSONVILLE, Ore., Sept. 10 /PRNewswire/ -- Tektronix Inc. (NYSE: TEK) today announced that Delbert W. Yocam will be named president and chief operating officer of Tektronix. He will report to Jerome J. Meyer, chairman and chief executive officer of Tektronix. Yocam, 48, begins work at Tetronix on Sept. 14.
 In this newly created position, Yocam will be responsible for the company's three business groups, overseeing the company's daily operations. In addition, the company's international, marketing and technology functions will report to Yocam. Functions continuing to report to Meyer include finance, human resources, corporate communications and the office of general counsel.

He spent ten years helping build the leading electronics marketing company, Apple Computer, and he also established and managed two highly successful international operations at Apple," said Meyer. "Del will play a key role in moving Tektronix to a new level of performance by focusing on aggressive revenue growth and continued operational improvement."
 Yocam served as executive vice president and chief operating officer of Apple Computer from 1986 to 1988. He was responsible for the operation of the company as it doubled in revenue from 1985 to 1988, and increased operating earnings six-fold. Most recently, Yocam was president of Apple Pacific. He also held a variety of other positions at Apple, including general manager of the Apple II group and group executive of product operations. Yocam joined Apple in 1979. Prior to that, Yocam held management positions with Fairchild Camera and Instrument Corp., Computer Automation Inc., Control Data Corp. and the Ford Motor Co.
 Yocam holds a bachelor's degree from California State University, Fullerton, and a master's degree in business administration from California State University, Long Beach. Yocam serves on the board of directors of Adobe Systems Inc., Oracle Systems AST Research and the Technology Center of Silicon Valley.
 Tektronix is a leading manufacturer of electronic products and systems in the areas of test and measurement, computer graphics and television systems. Revenues in fiscal 1992 totaled $1.3 billion.
