TEKTRONIX SELLS CCD OPERATION

 WILSONVILLE, Ore., Sept. 2 /PRNewswire/ -- Tektronix Inc. (NYSE: TEK) today announced the sale of the assets of its Charge Coupled Device (CCD) product group to Scientific Imaging Technologies Inc. (SITE), a wholly owned subsidiary of CBA International Inc. CBA International Inc., a biotechnology company based in Lexington, Ky., is comprised of three scientific business groups: Imaging, Pharmaceutical and Biotherapy.
 Terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
 Effective Sept. 1, 1993, SITE assumed responsibility for the former Tektronix charged coupled device product group operations. SITE will lease the CCD manufacturing facility on the Tektronix Beaverton campus and will employ most of the CCD employees. SITE will continue to address the present and future needs of customers in high performance electronic imaging markets.
 "This sale continues the direction established by Tektronix in 1990 to divest of non-strategic business units and focus on the growth potential of our core businesses," said John Karalis, vice president of corporate development. "In turn, SITE will be able to maximize its potential in the CCD-based imaging marketplace and expand its technologies into new markets."
 Tektronix Inc. is a leading manufacturer of electronics products and systems in the areas of test and measurement, computer graphics and television systems. Revenues in fiscal 1993 were $1.3 billion. Tektronix employed 9,840 people at fiscal year end. The company is headquartered in Wilsonville and has operations worldwide.
