TEENS ARRESTED IN VANDALISM OFFICIALS: TAGGING CREW SPRAYED SCHOOLS, SET FIRE, BROKE WINDOWS.

PALMDALE -- Sheriff's deputies have arrested five teenagers on suspicion of breaking windows and spray-painting graffiti at Juniper Intermediate and Summerwind Elementary schools over a three-month period, causing $50,000 in damage.

Four of the five boys are also suspected in the Sept. 26 arson and vandalism that caused tens of thousands of dollars in damage at Highland High School Highland High School or Highlands High School may refer to:

``I'm hoping that these students and, if necessary, their parents will be held responsible for making good on the damage,'' interim Palmdale School District The Palmdale School District is a school district that serves a major part of the city of Palmdale, California (USA).

Four of the boys are from Palmdale and one is from Agua Dulce Agua Dulce is Spanish for "sweet water". It also refers to various locations:

``It started as a vandalism investigation at Highland High School, and Detective (Greg) Bruner developed information the suspects were also involved in the Juniper and Summerwind school incidents,'' Maples said. ``They all knew each other. They hung around with each other and went out and did their own tags (graffiti).''

The Juniper and Summerwind incidents occurred over three months beginning in July.

Most recently at Juniper, 27 windows in four classrooms were smashed over the Sept. 30 weekend, district officials said.

Summerwind Principal Bob Rodrigo said there was tagging and the school's marquee sign was broken during the summer before school started.

The vandals spray-painted walls, doors, windows and school vehicles with the name of their tagging crew as well as their nicknames, which helped school officials link them to the crime.
