``He suffered very serious injuries in the crash,'' Mason said. ``He did not appear to be under the influence of alcohol or drugs, but that hasn't been officially determined.''

The teen took the tanker from a municipal yard in North Hollywood, then - with police in pursuit - drove erratically across San Fernando Valley streets, with the tanker bumping and crashing into at least eight parked vehicles along Sherman Way near Shoup Avenue, Sgt. Paul Modrell said.

The tanker eventually crashed into concrete pillars on Burbank Boulevard, just west of Blanco Blanco (meaning the color white in Spanish) is an adjective often used in Spanish surnames.
