TEDS Prepares for Rapid Growth; Pending Acquisition by Fidelity Investments Spurs New Efforts as Signing Date Nears.

 Company, a global leader in human capital development and learning management, today reported that it is preparing for a major expansion in its customer base. The growth, driven primarily through the pending acquisition by Fidelity Investments Fidelity Investments is a group of privately held companies in the financial services industry. It is made up by two independent but closely cooperating companies, Fidelity Management and Research Corporation (FMR Co. , is leading the company to an accelerated drive for fresh talent and enhanced services.

Information about the proposed merger was officially released on October 30 at TechLearn 2003, where TEDS was a gold sponsor. TEDS customers received advance information about the announcement in mid-October at the company's annual User Conference, hosted by Qwest at its TEDS-powered Network Training and Development Conference Center in Denver, CO.

If completed as planned, the acquisition will allow Fidelity to deliver learning and training administration services that are integrated within Fidelity's existing suite of HR outsourcing services. Meanwhile TEDS would continue to offer its premise-based products and services to both new and existing clients. Fidelity also intends to implement TEDS for use by its employees.

Based in the Boston area, Fidelity would operate TEDS as an independent business unit in Virginia, providing the company with the resources and focus necessary for continued growth. Promotions and talent acquisition

Robert Schaefer, recently named Director of Consulting Services, comes to TEDS with 23 years of experience in sales, marketing, project management and training at Steelcase, Inc., the world's leading office furniture manufacturer. His specific expertise included the management of learning infrastructure, evaluation of learning management systems, the creation of blended learning Blended Learning is the combination of multiple approaches to learning. Blended learning can be accomplished through the use of 'blended' virtual and physical resources. A typical example of this would be a combination of technology-based materials and face-to-face sessions used  solutions, and the development of new materials into sharable objects. As Director, Mr. Schaefer assumes responsibility for helping develop the strategic direction of the program, overseeing daily operations and spearheading the new entity's talent ramp-up for enhanced customer attention.

Patricia Hughes, a former senior consultant for TEDS, has been promoted to Director of Sales. Her expertise in learning management systems stems from 22 years of service with BellSouth, capped by five years as BellSouth's owner of the TEDS project. Consulting services expanded and restructured

As evidence of TEDS' growth and readiness for added consulting business, the company has restructured TEDS Consulting Services. Now with its own director, Robert Schaefer, this shift brings a more exclusive focus of TEDS resources to its customers and their project needs.
