TECORE Announces M3G - Managed Mobility Media Gateway; Integrated Mobility and Media for Wireless Applications.

LAS VEGAS -- TECORE(R) Wireless Systems, a pioneer supplier of 3G and next-generation wireless networks, has announced today a new wireless gateway product that optimizes switching and media translation for wireless networks. The M3G (Managed Mobility Media Gateway) works in conjunction with TECORE's SoftMSC switching platform to provide an integrated call server/media gateway platform that offers a configurable set of media and signaling interfaces for wireless networks in carrier or enterprise applications.

The M3G is optimized for wireless networks by directly providing the necessary interfaces for connectivity to base station equipment including control protocols, bearer traffic over TDM (Time Division Multiplexing) A technology that transmits multiple signals simultaneously over a single transmission path. Each lower-speed signal is time sliced into one high-speed transmission. , or native IP using any of the standardized wireless voice coding formats. Support includes AMR, GSM-EFR, and GSM-FR for GSM, EVRC EVRC Enhanced Variable Rate Codec (Relaxation Code Excited Linear Prediction, RCELP algorithm)

The foremost application of CDMA is the digital cellular phone technology from QUALCOMM that operates in the 800 MHz band and 1.9 GHz PCS band. , and ITU G.711, G726, G723.1, and G.729AB for SIP-based VoIP applications. The M3G supports a variety of signaling alternatives, including MGCP See MGCP/MEGACO.

By integrating the SoftMSC switching platform as a call server that provides all switching logic and management with a multi-technology media gateway function, the M3G provides an effective all-in-one solution for emerging wireless operators or enterprise applications, whether using GSM, CDMA, or WiFi technologies. The patented SoftMSC switching platform can also function as a call server supporting multiple, separate media gateways utilizing a distributed softswitching model, allowing the TECORE solution to adjust to the size, scale, and architecture of any network.

"The M3G is an exciting new product that allows TECORE to leverage its expertise in developing and integrating multi-technology solutions," said Harry Lewis, vice president of sales at TECORE. "The media gateway capability builds on TECORE's success in developing and delivering products that can be rapidly and cost effectively deployed in either 2.5G or 3G networks. Added to TECORE's line of switching products, the M3G enables operators and enterprises to deploy true technology-agnostic networks as the industry continues the evolution towards the IMS (1) See IP Multimedia Subsystem.

 architecture."

The M3G is built on a field-proven Linux platform that leverages open standards and technology advancements supporting a wide range of interface types and densities. The product features TECORE's CoreAccess, a JAVA-based management application that simplifies element, network, provisioning, and configuration management.
