 TECHNOLOGY PRODUCTS EXECUTIVE CHANGES ANNOUNCED
ARMONK, N.Y., June 16 /PRNewswire/ -- IBM (NYSE: IBM) today

announced that Paul R. Low, IBM vice president and general manager, Technology Products line of business, will retire from IBM June 30, after 35 years of service. He will be succeeded by IBM Vice President Michael J. Attardo.
"Paul Low has distinguished himself as an advocate of IBM's technology leadership, within and outside our company," said IBM Chairman John F. Akers. "Most recently, he helped reshape our Technology Products business, positioning it well so that leading-edge semiconductor technology continues to be available to IBM and, increasingly, to others. We wish him all the best."
Low joined IBM in 1957 in Poughkeepsie, N.Y., and later held a range of management and executive positions, including general manager of IBM sites in Burlington, Vt., and East Fishkill, N.Y. He became president of IBM's General Technology Division in 1983, and was elected an IBM vice president the following year. After serving as General Products Division president, in July 1990 Low was named to his present position and to IBM's corporate management board.
Attardo was general manager of manufacturing and process development, Technology Products. He joined IBM as an engineer in East Fishkill in 1967. Before being named to his current position earlier this year, he was president of the General Technology Division. In his new position Attardo becomes a member of the corporate management board.
