The release of the new CD gives our customers one-stop shopping for all TEA's equipment characteristics, transportability, strategic deployability, and ports publications.

Featured on the CD are:

[] TB 55-46-1, Standard Characteristics for Transportability of Military Vehicles Military vehicles include all land combat and transportation vehicles, excluding rail-based, which are designed for or are in significant use by military forces.

See also list of armoured fighting vehicles.
 and Other Outsize/ Overweight Equipment

This technical bulletin provides dimensions, weight and cube of military vehicles, vehicle-mounted equipment, and other outsize/overweight equipment. Staff, command and field organizations use these data for standard reference in developing and reporting movement requirements.

The CD-ROM CD-ROM: see compact disc.

[] Transportability Field Guidance Pamphlets

These battle-dress-uniform, pocket sized pamphlets contain transport procedures as well as suggestions to operational problems based on field experience and feedback from soldiers. This series of pamphlets consists of:

-- MTMCTEA MTMCTEA Military Traffic Management Command Transportation Engineering Agency  55-19, Tie-down Handbook for Rail Movements: Aids the soldier in ensuring safe rail transport of equipment. It contains general information, procedures and figures for the correct tie-down of military equipment on railcars.

-- MTMCTEA 55-20, Tie-down Handbook for Truck Movements: Presents information on the proper methods for securing general cargo and wheeled and tracked vehicles on military cargo vehicles.

-- MTMCTEA 55-21, Lifting and Tie-down of U.S. Military Helicopters for Marine Transport: Contains general information concerning the lifting and tie-down procedures of U.S. military helicopters. Helicopters are extremely fragile, high-dollar items; extreme care must be taken to ensure proper and safe transport.

-- MTMCTEA 55-22, Marine Lifting and Lashing Handbook: Provides users with the proper methods for lifting and securing general equipment aboard ships.

-- MTMCTEA 55-23, Containerization con·tain·er·ize

-- MTMCTEA 55-24, Vehicle Preparation Handbook for Fixed Wing Air Movements: Provides users with general information and the proper methods for the preparation of wheeled and tracked vehicles for transport in Air Force fixed-wing cargo aircraft.

-- MTMCTEA 70-1, Transportability for Better Deployability: Serves as a guide to transportability. It is intended for decision-makers, materiel ma·te·ri·el or ma·té·ri·el

developers, combat developers, equipment designers and users, logisticians and transporters interested in transportability. Properly applied transportability engineering is essential to the deployment of military equipment. An item of equipment is of little value if it cannot be transported rapidly and efficiently to where it is needed.

[] Strategic Deployability Guidance

-- MTMCTEA 700-1, Airlift Certification Procedures: Establishes uniform procedures for:

* Identifying, collecting, and reporting dimensions and weights for selected reportable items of equipment; and

* Requesting airlift certification for reportable items of equipment that need certification for transport aboard C-130, C-141, C-5, C-17, KC-135, or Civil Reserve Air Fleet A program in which the Department of Defense contracts for the services of specific aircraft, owned by a US entity or citizen, during national emergencies and defense-oriented situations when expanded civil augmentation of military airlift activity is required.  aircraft.

-- MTMCTEA 700-2, Logistics Handbook for Strategic Mobility Planning: Provides a broad range of vital transport information and guidance for planning purposes. Such data is essential for the successful mobilization, deployment, and sustainment of U.S. forces worldwide.

-- MTMCTEA 700-5, Deployment Planning Guide: Lists the transportation assets needed to deploy Army units. The units depicted in this reference are five Army-type divisions, a heavy armored cavalry regiment An armored cavalry regiment (ACR) is a regiment of the United States Army or United States National Guard organized for the specific purposes of reconnaissance, surveillance, and security. , a light armored cavalry regiment, three Army-type brigades and a notional corps support command.

[] Ports For National Defense Studies

These reports help determine the transportation infrastructure requirements needed to ensure that both personnel and equipment move safely and efficiently from origin to destination during both peacetime and war. Specifically, these reports:

* Identify the port facilities and equipment needed to support a deployment.

* Determine the port throughput capability in measurement ton per day.

* Determine the ability of Maritime Administration-designated facilities to meet the deployment of specific units.

[] Studies available include:

* Continental United States United States territory, including the adjacent territorial waters, located within North America between Canada and Mexico. Also called CONUS.  Pons: East Coast, West Coast, Gulf Coast and Alaska.

* Overseas Continental United States Ports: Central America, Southwest Asia and Pacific Rim.

Port Enhancement Analysis: East Coast, West Coast and other ports.

The Port Enhancement Analysis offers a precise assessment of each study port's ability to meet its throughput requirements. Port requirements are based on the most demanding operations plan for that port. Using Transportation Engineering Agency deployment models, these reports estimate a detailed and realistic picture of the deployment throughput for each port.

System requirements for the CDROM See CD-ROM.  are:

* Microsoft Windows 3.X, Windows NT 3.5/4.0 or Windows 95/98/2000.

* Any HTML-compatible browser (Internet Explorer, Netscape, etc.)

* Adobe Acrobat Reader 3.0 or higher.
