TCI and Continental Cablevision to trade assets of selected cable systems.


BOSTON, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 10, 1996-- Tele-Communications Inc. (TCI (Trustworthy Computing Initiative) An umbrella term from Microsoft for its efforts to improve security in Windows. TCI was announced in 2002 after viruses such as Code Red and Nimda had succeeded in attacking numerous Windows computers. ) and Continental Cablevision Inc. jointly announced today that they have signed a definitive exchange agreement to trade the assets of selected cable television systems representing more than 200,000 subscribers in three states.

 the terms of the agreement, Continental Cablevision will acquire the assets of the TCI cable systems serving approximately 100,000 customers in eastern Massachusetts, including the major service areas of Andover, Cape Cod Cape Cod, narrow peninsula of glacial origin, 399 sq mi (1,033 sq km), SE Mass., extending 65 mi (105 km) E and N into the Atlantic Ocean.
