TCI OF PENNSYLVANIA, INC., TO OFFER HBO, DISNEY INAUGURAL SPECIALS

PITTSBURGH, Jan. 15 /PRNewswire/ -- TCI of Pennsylvania, Inc., will present special programming by Home Box Office and The Disney Channel related to the upcoming presidential inauguration of Bill Clinton.
While HBO and Disney programming typically is available only to subscribers of those services, TCI of Pennsylvania said it will offer the specials free of charge to most of its customers because of the historical significance of the programming.
On Sunday, Jan. 17, at 8 p.m., HBO will present a two-hour inaugural celebration from the Lincoln Memorial. In addition to an expected appearance by Mr. Clinton, the program will feature such stars as Harry Belafonte, Michael Bolton, Ray Charles, Ted Danson, Aretha Franklin, Whoopi Goldberg, James Earl Jones, Jack Nicholson, Sidney Poitier, Smokey Robinson, Kenny Rogers, Diana Ross, Carly Simon and Dionne Warwick.
The HBO special will be seen on Channel 24 in the city of Pittsburgh system and on Channel 36 or 37 in most other TCI of Pennsylvania systems.
On Tuesday, Jan. 19, Disney will offer two hour-long programs to help younger viewers appreciate and enjoy the inauguration.
At 3 p.m., Disney will present THE PRESIDENTIAL INAUGURAL CELEBRATION FOR CHILDREN, hosted by Markie Post of the CBS HEARTS AFIRE series. Featured will be The Muppets, Mr. Rogers and the children's singer, Raffi.
At 5 p.m., Disney will offer THE PRESIDENTIAL INAUGURAL CELEBRATION FOR YOUTH, hosted by Will Smith of the NBS series THE FRESH PRINCE OF BEL AIR. Appearing will be recording artists Boys II Men, saxophonist Clarence Clemons, singer Kenny Loggins, Disney's MICKEY MOUSE CLUB and The Joffrey Ballet.
