TCI OF PA. PITTSBURGH SYSTEM TO CARRY KQV DURING NEWSPAPER STRIKE
PITTSBURGH, June 17 /PRNewswire/ -- TCI of Pennsylvania Inc. announced today that it is now offering all-news radio station KQV-AM in its City of Pittsburgh system as a service to customers during the newspaper strike.
KQV comprises the audio portion of Channel 24, which carries customer information and network pre-emptions, and it is heard whenever the the channel is not featuring video programming. Channel 24 is received by all customers in the City of Pittsburgh system.
Shawn McGorry, system general manager, said the addition will provide a valuable information source for customers in the absence of the city's two largest daily newspapers.
"This action should make it convenient for those using our service to get important news throughout the day," McGorry said. "It will provide an excellent local complement to the national and international news and current events we offer on CNN, CNN Headline News, C-SPAN I, C-SPAN II, CNBC and The Weather Channel."
The City of Pittsburgh system serves more than 102,000 customers.
