OKLAHOMA CITY, Sept. 20 /PRNewswire/ -- Fleming Companies, Inc. (NYSE: FLM) announced today that its third quarter earnings would be reduced by $2 million, or 5 to 6 cents per share, due to recently enacted federal tax legislation.
The company's estimated 1993 effective tax rate will increase to 42.5 percent from 41.1 percent as a result of the new tax law. The retroactive effect of the increased rate on the first half of 1993 will be recorded in the third quarter.
