TASTE OF THE NATION CHEFS RAISE MONEY FOR THE HUNGRY AT WALT DISNEY WORLD DOLPHIN

LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla., April 16 /PRNewswire/ -- Menus created by 15 Central Florida chefs will be featured Friday, April 30, at 7 p.m. at the Walt Disney World Dolphin. These culinary delights, along with wines, cognac, exotic coffees and teas, beer and mineral water will serve 1,000 guests and raise money for two Central Florida charities, the Second Harvest Food Bank and the Coalition For the Homeless.
A national event, Taste of the Nation occurs simultaneously each year in nearly 100 cities throughout the U.S. and Canada. Proceeds go to local, national and international programs.
"Last year's event raised almost $38,000 in Central Florida," said David Yates, chairman of the event and director of food and beverage operations at the Sheraton World Resort. "This year we expect to raise $50,000."
The menus from participating restaurants, hotels and attractions offer a delectable array of delicacies. A wide variety of food items, from salads to desserts are featured.
The list of specialties is far too long to list -- however, some mouth-watering highlights include Cream of Duck Peppercorn soup from Pebbles restaurants, four Carpaccios with assorted Vinaigrettes from the Stouffer Orlando Resort, Tapas and Paella from Park Plaza Gardens, apple wood-smoked Rack of Lamb and Thai ginger chicken Sausage with a Black Sesame dressing from the Walt Disney World Culinary Apprenticeship program and even a Dessert Sushi from the Walt Disney World Dolphin.
Accompanying this wide variety of exotic dishes will be wines donated by Southern Wines & Spirits, Premier Beverage and Grantham Distributing Co., coffee and tea from Barnie's and tastings of Martell Cordon Bleu Cognac.
With 21 local corporate sponsors, tables are at a premium but still available. Individual tickets are $50 apiece and can be purchased by calling the Second Harvest Food Bank at 407-295-1066.
