Talk to TAPPI is the newest feature on www.tappi.org

Now there's a new easy way to share your thoughts, concerns, and suggestions with TAPPI leaders. The new "Talk to TAPPI" feature on www.tappi.org provides members as well as nonmembers the opportunity to voice their ideas in one convenient location. The new "Talk to TAPPI" page combines four different feedback mechanisms on one easy-to-find area. First, web visitors and members can click on the 'President's Page' to send an email directly to Kathleen M. Bennett, TAPPI's president. The 'Web Worries' section is set up for members to ask for help, send a message to the Webmaster, or offer suggestions for improvement to the site. The 'Score the Site' section is an electronic survey about the functionality of the site. And finally, in the 'TAPPI Triumphs' area members can share their thoughts about the value of TAPPI membership. Visit "Talk to TAPPI" on www.tappi.org today to tell TAPPI's leaders what you think!

 and Semichemical Pulping subject category are being proposed for withdrawal, due to lack of interest expressed so far in reviewing and maintaining these documents. The TIPs are:

* TIP 0607-02 "Aqua ammonia See Aqua ammoniæ "

* TIP 0607-03 "Solubility solubility

Degree to which a substance dissolves in a solvent to make a solution (usually expressed as grams of solute per litre of solvent). Solubility of one fluid (liquid or gas) in another may be complete (totally miscible; e.g.

* TIP 0607-25 "Definitions of terms in the sulfite pulping process"

The current members of the Sulfite and Semichemical Pulping Committee were notified in June 2003 that these would be proposed for withdrawal unless a member volunteered to chair their reviews by September 15, 2003.

This public announcement is intended to determine if there are any other TAPPI members who would like to assist in the review of these documents in order to retain them in the set. If no one has expressed interest in the retention of these documents by September 15, 2003, then the Quality and Standards Management Committee will be requested to withdraw them at their next meeting (September 30, 2003).

Anyone with an interest in keeping any of these TIPs in the set should contact Charles Bohanan (cbohanan@tappi.org, or phone +1 770 209-7276, or fax +1 770 446-6947).
