Mill Tour. To reinforce the course information about paperboard coating covered in the classroom, course participants will have the opportunity to tour the Mead Coated Board Mahrt Mill in Cottonton, AL. The mill is the main manufacturing facility, for Mead Coated Board Division. The Coated Natural Kraft[TM] (CNK[R]) paperboard that is produced at the mill is shipped around the world and converted into folding cartons and beverage carriers. The mill runs two paper machines and produced more than one million tons of board in 2000.
