TAPPI Board of Directors slate announced.It's time It's Time was a successful political campaign run by the Australian Labor Party (ALP) under Gough Whitlam at the 1972 election in Australia. Campaigning on the perceived need for change after 23 years of conservative (Liberal Party of Australia) government, Labor put forward a again to vote for a new slate of Board Directors. TAPPI's Nominating/Honors Committee recently submitted a slate of candidates for officers and directors for terms beginning in March 2003. The list of candidates includes: Kathleen M. Bennett, vice president for Georgia-Pacific in Atlanta, Georgia, USA, for President and Willis J. Potts, Jr., vice president and general manager for Inland Paperboard and Packaging Inc., in Rome, Georgia, USA, for Vice President. By letter ballot later this year, the Association's members will elect five of 10 nominated candidates to fill the openings on TAPPI's 15 member Board of Directors and President and Vice President. The Nominating/Honors Committee selected these candidates from the Association's member groups and from individual TAPPI TAPPI Technical Association of the Pulp and Paper Industry members. Each of the candidates will be listed in one of five categorized slates on the ballot. The 10 candidates nominated for three year terms on the Board of Directors are as follows: The TAPPI Bylaws The rules and regulations enacted by an association or a corporation to provide a framework for its operation and management. Bylaws may specify the qualifications, rights, and liabilities of membership, and the powers, duties, and grounds for the dissolution of an specify that other nominations may be submitted to the executive director's office before November 1, 2002, provided that each nomination is signed by at least 1% of the voting members and provided further that each nominee signifies in writing his or her willingness to accept the nomination. In the event that no other nominations are made in this manner, the ballot distributed to the voting members will be limited to the above-mentioned candidates provided by the Nominating/Honors Committee.
