TAPPI Board of Directors elections close at hand.It's time again to vote for a new slate of candidates for TAPPI TAPPI Technical Association of the Pulp and Paper Industry Board of Directors. By letter ballot later this year, the Association's members will elect five of 10 nominated candidates to fill the openings on TAPPI's 15-member Board of Directors. The Nominating/Honors Committee selected these candidates from lists submitted by individual TAPPI members. Each of the candidates will be listed in one of four categorized slates on the ballot. The 10 candidates nominated for three-year terms on the Board of Directors are as follows: SLATE A: TECHNICAL/R&D (Vote for two) Vernon L. Adams, manager, field environment engineer, Georgia-Pacific Corp.; Palatka, Florida G. Ronald Brown, research director, Westvaco Corp.; Laurel, Maryland SLATE B: GOVERNMENT/ ACADEMIC Martin D. Sikora, chair and professor, Miami University; Oxford, Ohio Ronald A. Yeske, president, NCASI NCASI National Council for Air and Stream Improvement ; Durham, North Carolina Durham is a city in the U.S. state of North Carolina. Shackford, vice-president technology, GL&V/Impco-Jones Inc.; Nashua, New Hampshire Nashua is a city in Hillsborough County, New Hampshire, USA. As of the 2000 census, Nashua had a total population of 86,605[1], making it the second largest city in the state after Manchester. As of 2005, the population is estimated to be 87,986. Typically the president of the company, the CEO reports to the Chairman of the Board. , PAPRICAN PAPRICAN Pulp and Paper Research Institute of Canada ; Pointe Clare, Quebec, Canada The TAPPI Bylaws specify that other nominations may be submitted to the executive director's office before November 1, 2001, provided that each nomination is signed by at least 1% of the voting members and provided further that each nominee signifies in writing his or her willingness to accept the nomination. In the event that no other nominations are made in this manner, the ballot distributed to the voting members will be limited to the above-mentioned candidates provided by the Nominating/Honors Committee. The Nominating/Honors Committee members for 2001 are Richard G. Barker (chair), William S. Fuller, Mark J. Rawlings, Michael J. Kocurek, Robert B. Kinstrey, W.B.A. Sharp, and Wayne H.
