TAPPI 2002 Annual Business Meeting and Awards Ceremony.


Plan now to attend TAPPI's 2002 Annual Business Meeting and Awards Ceremony, March 5, 2002 at the Georgia World Congress in Atlanta, Georgia during the Paper Summit. This annual gathering of TAPPI TAPPI Technical Association of the Pulp and Paper Industry  members, leaders, fellows, and honored guests provides a forum for TAPPI members to recognize those who have made unique contributions to TAPPI and to the industry.

During the Annual Business Meeting and Awards Ceremony, the Association's highest honors, the Gunnar Nicholson Gold Medal gold medal

 and the Herman L. Joachim Distinguished Service Award will be presented and several new TAPPI Fellows will be recognized an honored later that day at the annual Fellows Luncheon.

The Gunnar Nicholson Gold Medal Award is given to an individual or individuals who have made preeminent pre·em·i·nent or pre-em·i·nent  
adj.

The TAPPI Herman L. Joachim Distinguished Service Award was established to recognize an individual for voluntary leadership and service that significantly and demonstrably de·mon·stra·ble  
adj.
1. Capable of being demonstrated or proved: demonstrable truths.

2. Obvious or apparent: demonstrable lies.
 contributed to the advancement of the Association.

TAPPI Fellow is an honorary title Honorary title may refer to:
  • Honorary title (academic), primarily exists in some universities and colleges in the United States and Canada
  • Title of honor, as an award in recognition of their merits
  • The Honorary Title, an indie rock band from Brooklyn, New York
 bestowed upon less than 1% of TAPPI's membership, and is given to individuals who have made extraordinary technical or service contributions to the industry and/or the Association.
