TANZANIA 113th MARKET FOR ERICSSON'S AXE SYSTEM.NEW YORK, NY--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 14, 1995--Ericsson has received a $118 million order from Tanzania Telecommunications Company Ltd (TTCL TTCL Tanzania Telecommunications Company Ltd. ), the national telecom operator of Tanzania, for AXE digital switching equipment. This is Ericsson's first AXE contract in Tanzania. With this new contract, Ericsson has sold the AXE system to 113 markets worldwide. The turn-key contract from TTCL includes planning, design and implementation to expand the public telecommunications network in Dar es Salaam Dar es Salaam Largest city (pop., 1995 est.: 1,747,000), capital, and major port of Tanzania.
