& ORLANDO, Fla. -- With Key Alliance Partners, TANDBERG Brings Video to Any Network Environment for Stronger Enterprise Collaboration

TANDBERG(R) (OSLO:TAA TAA - Track Average Amplitude .OL), a global leader in visual communication, will demonstrate its videoconferencing solutions integrated with network environments from new partner Nortel and other technology leaders at VoiceCon Spring 2006, March 6-9 in Orlando. The ability to seamlessly incorporate TANDBERG video into any network environment, regardless of protocol, is helping organizations to spur more dynamic "face-to-face" collaboration across their enterprise and throughout their supply chains.

The TANDBERG demonstrations at booth #523 will showcase seamlessly integrated video with a leading workplace environment from Nortel. Nortel today named TANDBERG a Developer Partner within its Enterprise Video Program for going "above and beyond" in providing advanced functionality and applications. In addition, TANDBERG will demonstrate video solutions within environments from established partners Cisco Systems “Cisco” redirects here. For other uses, see Cisco (disambiguation).

, Microsoft and IBM Many people are too new to the computer industry to remember that IBM once occupied the lofty position that Microsoft currently enjoys. Today, it's a Microsoft versus The Rest of the World computer industry. Yesterday, it was IBM versus everybody else. .

"Converged IP-based enterprise networks are a marketplace reality today," said Fredrik Halvorsen, TANDBERG Chief Executive Officer. "TANDBERG's capacity to seamlessly incorporate video into these converged environments enables organizations to fully leverage their network investment, while enhancing productivity and bottom-line revenue. Our demos will give VoiceCon attendees the chance to experience how a fully-integrated IP network can help people share multimedia information and solve problems more quickly through face-to-face interaction."

TANDBERG technology demonstrations include:

--Nortel -- TANDBERG integration with the Nortel MCS 5100 Multimedia Communication Server enables users to easily launch video calls at the click of a button. TANDBERG video endpoints are certified to support Nortel's Session Initiation Protocol (protocol) Session Initiation Protocol - (SIP) A very simple text-based application-layer control protocol. It creates, modifies, and terminates sessions with one or more participants. Such sessions include Internet telephony and multimedia conferences.

It is described in RFC 2543.
(SIP), the Internet standard An Internet standard is a specification for an innovative internetworking technology or methodology, which the Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF) ratified as an open standard after the innovation underwent peer review.  for initiating interactive communication sessions that include video, voice, instant messaging Exchanging text messages in real time between two or more people logged into a particular instant messaging (IM) service. Instant messaging is more interactive than e-mail because messages are sent immediately, whereas e-mail messages can be queued up in a mail server for seconds or , and web conferencing.

--Cisco -- TANDBERG integration with Cisco(R) CallManager provides business-quality video systems for the desktop and office that make video calls as simple to initiate as a phone call. TANDBERG solutions integrate with Cisco CallManager 4.0 (and higher) and provide users the same softkey functionality as a Cisco IP telephone (i.e., call forward, call hold and call transfer).

--Microsoft -- TANDBERG integration with Microsoft Office Live Microsoft Office Live is an Internet-based software service designed for small businesses with fewer than ten employees launched on February 15, 2006,[1] and is part of Microsoft's Windows Live initiative.  Communications Server 2005 and Office Communicator provide users with a single portal for audio, e-mail, IM, web and video collaboration. With the TANDBERG-Microsoft solution, users can launch video calls from SIP/H.323/H.320 video appliances. In addition, TANDBERG integration includes multipoint support for Office Communicator and integration with Microsoft Live Meeting for web conferencing.

--IBM -- IBM (International Business Machines Corporation, Armonk, NY, www.ibm.com) The world's largest computer company. IBM's product lines include the S/390 mainframes (zSeries), AS/400 midrange business systems (iSeries), RS/6000 workstations and servers (pSeries), Intel-based servers (xSeries) (R) and TANDBERG leverage existing workplace tools Lotus Notes(R) and Lotus Sametime(R) to easily schedule and conduct video calls and launch impromptu video conversations with the click of a button. The integration reduces cost-of-ownership by providing real-time collaboration through a single solution.

At VoiceCon, on Monday, March 6, TANDBERG will conduct a product briefing session that demonstrates how TANDBERG integrates video into a company's SIP, SCCP (Signaling Connection Control Point) A layer 3 protocol in an SS7 network that routes a message to the appropriate database. SCCP is used in conjunction with the TCAP protocol for sending queries to databases. See SS7 and TCAP. See also SSCP.  and H.323 environments, allowing the company to maximize its network investment. The briefing will be held at 5 p.m. in Room 2.
