About the TANDBERG Director

The TANDBERG Director is an integrated solution that combines multimedia applications and videoconferencing in one unit. It is delivered in a self-contained rear-projection cabinet that includes a high quality XGA (EXtended Graphics Array) A screen resolution of 1,024x768 pixels. The term stems from IBM's XGA display standard introduced in 1990, which extended VGA to 132-column text and interlaced 1,024x768x256 resolution. XGA-2 later added non-interlaced 1,024x768x64K.  LCD projector See LCD TV, data projector and LCD panel.  and a 67-inch touch-sensitive surface. All system electronics are integrated into the base section including a TANDBERG 6000 codec, image scaling See image scaler.  and control processor as well as a high quality audio system with twin speakers. This system incorporates TANDBERG's rich videoconferencing features, including MultiSite(TF), DuoVideo(TF) and Native Resolution. Additionally, like all other TANDBERG systems, calls on the TANDBERG Director are secured with Advanced Encryption Standard (cryptography, algorithm) Advanced Encryption Standard - (AES) The NIST's replacement for the Data Encryption Standard (DES). The Rijndael /rayn-dahl/ symmetric block cipher, designed by Joan Daemen and Vincent Rijmen, was chosen by a NIST contest to be AES.  (AES) security, independent of the network connection.
