She also provides suggestions about how to explain death and other losses.

Although this book is an essential resource for adults who have an immediate need to talk with children about death and loss, it also would be valuable to anyone who wants to better understand how children interpret loss, and be better prepared to create safe, nurturing environments for the times when children do experience painful life events. This book would be extremely useful to educators who oversee the care or teaching of large groups of children.
