TALK BACK.

Byline: The Register-Guard

An important reminder

I have read 20Below since its inception and have enjoyed it very much. I am a 56-year-old woman with five grown children, nine grandkids and one more on the way.

I can relate to what Quinn Wilhelmi said about really looking at things as I have much to be grateful for, but his column really hit home ("Stop a minute, and take a look at yourself," June 30). I've just been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer pancreatic cancer

Pursue happiness

I wanted to congratulate Quinn for a wonderful article.

In the three years my wife and I have lived in the Bay Area we have learned that happiness is attainable by keeping things simple -- the pursuit of money for money's sake is a sad way to spend one's youth. Quinn has an understanding of life many of us did not have at his age. At 31, I'm now realizing that it is time to make a change, a drastic change that will negatively affect my 401(k) account, but greatly enhance our quality of life.

Quinn, promise yourself that you will look back at this article of yours before you make major decisions - secular or otherwise. If you do, you will live a rich life full of happiness and adventure.
