After being down by as many as 11 runs and having top hitters absent because of other commitments, the West rallied for an 18-16 victory in the 25th annual Daily News Bernie Milligan All-Star Baseball All-Star Baseball is a baseball video game series developed and published by Acclaim Entertainment. ``Our strategy was to lull them to sleep,'' said Chaminade of West Hills coach Scott Drootin, the West's co-coach. ``I told the guys we got 'em where we want 'em.''

His players verified the strategy.

``Oh, yeah, that was the plan,'' said Agoura catcher Chris Denove, who went 3 for 3 with a walk and three RBI.

The West's 17-hit attack produced the largest run total by a single team in the game's history, as well as the highest combined score.

Doubles by Erik Hagstrom of Granada Hills, Denove and Peterson began the West's comeback with five hits and four runs in the fifth inning. The West had just one hit before that inning, but hit enough to score at least one run in each of the remaining innings.

Two batters later, Turock singled to right to give the West the lead. An RBI single by Denove capped the scoring and made a winning pitcher of Chaminade's T.J. Franco, who pitched a scoreless eighth.

``It was an awesome experience,'' Turock said. ``I just wanted to have as much fun as possible.''
