Richards said he had no idea Harris could sing, and the 24-year-old former star of TV's ``Doogie Howser M.D.'' explained that he had sang in church as a youngster but hadn't thought of a singing career until he'd seen the New York production of ``Rent'' and decided to audition.

``I had no idea how much of a workout it was. I wore out my shoes and my knees, but I love it,'' Harris said, laughing. Then he and Richards compared knees.
