TAGGING CREW MEMBER STABBED DEAD ON STREET ATTACKERS EMERGED FROM CAR, THEN FLED THE SCENE.Byline: JOSH KLEINBAUM Staff Writer WINNETKA - A 21-year-old member of a tagging crew was stabbed to death when his group was attacked by gang members, and two men were shot hours later less than two miles away by another gang member, authorities said Wednesday. Jose Caravantes, 21, met up with four friends, all members of the same tagging crew, in the 20200 block of Sherman Way, near Caravantes' home. The group stood on a corner about 5:10 p.m. Tuesday when they spotted a gray sedan Sedan (sədäN`), town (1990 pop. 22,407), Ardennes dept., NE France, on the Meuse River. A passing driver called 911. Caravantes ran from the scene and collapsed in front of a nearby apartment building, where paramedics pronounced him dead at 5:35 p.m. Caravantes' friends told police they didn't know the attackers, and there was no prior dispute that led to the fight, Swanston said. "He asked the usual question, `Where are you from?"' Potter said. "Then he pulled out a gun and shot at the victims." One victim, 34, was shot in the leg, and another, 26, was shot in the stomach, Potter said. Both are stable.
