Santa Clarita city spokeswoman Gail Ortiz said the vandals hit during the holiday weekend and crews worked Monday and Tuesday to remove the markings from buildings and from the new $200,000 equipment. Having trouble removing the graffiti from the plastic equipment, the city called the manufacturer for advice.

The city will ask its Saugus Action Committee to help keep a lookout at local parks in hopes of halting halt·ing
