TAB Dallas Chapter to Honor 2003 Distinguished Business Leader Ray Hunt, Chairman, Hunt Consolidated Inc.

The Dallas chapter of the Texas Association of Business (TAB) and presenting sponsor Baylor Health Care System announced today that Ray Hunt, Chairman of Hunt Consolidated, will be honored as the 2003 Distinguished Business Leader at a September 25th luncheon. Additional sponsors include Burson-Marsteller, Centex, Challenger Gray and Christmas, Inc., Dallas Business Journal, Ebby Halliday Ebby Halliday (born March 9, 1911) is an American realtor who founded Ebby Halliday Realtors, which now sells more homes than any other broker in Texas and ranks No. 23 in the nation. , EDS (Electronic Data Systems, Plano, TX, www.eds.com) Founded in 1962 by H. Ross Perot (independent candidate for the President of the U.S. in 1992), EDS is the largest outsourcing and data processing services organization in the country. , ExxonMobil, Hillwood, Southern Methodist University Southern Methodist University, at Dallas, Tex.; United Methodist; coeducational; chartered 1911. For six years, TAB has recognized Texas business executives who exhibit strong leadership skills, promote ethical business practices and contribute to the local community with the Distinguished Business Leader Award. Past recipients are Dick Cheney, Herb Kelleher Herbert D. Kelleher (born March 12, 1931) is the co-founder, Chairman and former CEO of Southwest Airlines (based in the United States).

Kelleher was born and raised in Haddon Heights, New Jersey.

This year's award recipient, Ray Hunt, has worked for Hunt Oil Company for 45 years and currently serves on the board of directors for EDS, Halliburton, King Ranch King Ranch, c.1,000,000 acres (404,700 hectares), S Tex., SW of Corpus Christi with headquarters at Kingsville, Tex.; one of the largest ranches in the world. It has several divisions, of which the best known is Santa Gertrudis, the "home" ranch. , Inc. and PepsiCo.
