Granada Hills (14-11) had only 12 players available because most of its seniors, including the team's top pitchers, attended the school's prom.

Thousand Oaks (11-10) used 13 hits and five Granada Hills errors to brighten what has been a bleak second half of the season.

``It feels good,'' said outfielder Matt Lorenz, whose Lancers lanc·er

Granada Hills was one of the area's hottest teams when the championship game was originally scheduled to be played more than a month ago, but, at far from full strength Saturday, the Highlanders quickly saw their title hopes slip away.

Thousand Oaks broke the game open with nine runs in the third inning. The Lancers sent 14 batters to the plate, and Lorenz, Zach Ginther and Eric Guillen each had two hits in the inning.

Lorenz finished 3 for 3, including a double and a triple. Ginther was 3 for 4, and Chris Hannick went 2 for 3 with two RBI RBI

Thousand Oaks added three runs in the fifth inning. Jeff Bandy's single to right brought home Guillen to cap the scoring and end the game with no outs in the inning.
