Systems Go Live at Intershipping Terminal Services in Venezuela; Tideworks Continues to Build Momentum in Latin America.


SEATTLE -- Tideworks Technology(R) Inc, a leading provider of full-service terminal management and planning software solutions for terminal operators, today announced the successful deployment of its terminal operations management systems at Intershipping Terminal Services, C.A. (ITS) in Puerto Cabello Puerto Cabello (pwār`tō käbā`yō), city (1990 pop. 128,825), N Venezuela, a port on the Caribbean Sea. An important Venezuelan port, it ships meat, coffee, cacao, dyewoods, and copper ores. Near the city is one of Venezuela's most modern oil and chemical plants., Venezuela. Tideworks' regional office in Colon, Panama, managed the complete project implementation from requirements identification to software installation and training, and provides ongoing support.

At approximately 3.5 hectares in size, the ITS terminal handled close to 100,000 TEUs in 2005. Tideworks' advanced terminal management systems are designed to help dense terminals such as ITS reach maximum container throughput and maintain a competitive advantage. "The system is helping us to anticipate the operation, eliminate unnecessary rehandles, increase our performance at gates, and reduce our overall operating costs," said Szalay.

Local, State-of-the-Art Training

As part of the deployment, Tideworks trained ITS employees at Tideworks' Training Center of the Americas (TCOTA) facility in Colon, Panama. Key system users gained hands-on training in both a classroom and operational setting where they learned to run the new systems and procedures, as well as experience various operations scenarios.

In the Caribbean region, Tideworks is currently the only company of its kind that provides customers with a state-of-the-art training facility like TCOTA.
