Sysmex to Construct New Reagent Manufacturing Plant in US.


Tokyo, Japan, Aug 8, 2005 - (JCNN JCNN Japan Corporate News Network ) - Sysmex announced on August 8 that it has decided to strengthen its operations in the US. Specifically, the company will construct a new plant in Illinois Illinois, river, United States
Illinois, river, 273 mi (439 km) long, formed by the confluence of the Des Plaines and Kankakee rivers, NE Ill., and flowing SW to the Mississippi at Grafton, Ill. It is an important commercial and recreational waterway.

Sysmex will invest $12 million to build the plant on a site adjacent to the US subsidiary. The plant will have a floor space of 5,000m2 and will be operated by its US reagent reagent /re·a·gent/ (re-a´jent) a substance used to produce a chemical reaction so as to detect, measure, produce, etc., other substances.

The new plant, which is scheduled to become operational in April 2007, will manufacture reagent products for the US market. It will have an annual output capacity of 700,000 cases.

In line with the move, Sysmex plans to close down its current manufacturing plant in California in June 2008.
