Sysmex Wins Award in FY2005 Kinki Local Commendation for Invention Sponsored by Japan Institute of Invention and Innovation.Tokyo, Japan, Nov 8, 2005 - (JCNN JCNN Japan Corporate News Network ) - Sysmex has received a Japan Paten Office Commissioner Encouragement Prize in the FY2005 Kinki Local Commendation for Invention sponsored by the Japan Institute of Invention and Innovation (JIII JIII Japan Institute of Invention and Innovation ) for its unique technology for measuring reticulocytes. The awarded technology, which has been applied to the company's proprietary hematology analyzer XE-2100, can simultaneously measure blood cells and reticulocytes, enabling cost reduction and power saving in blood tests. Further, the technology is useful in doping tests that intend to identify the banned substances that increase a hemoglobin content in the blood. The XE-2100 was used in the 2004 Athens Olympic Games and the 2005 Tour de France Tour de France World's most prestigious and difficult bicycle race.
