Syscan's New RFID Technology Selected by NATO.


MONTREAL -- Syscan International Inc. (TSX VENTURE:SYA) today announced that it has been selected by Logis-Tech, inc. of Manassas, Virginia, to supply its patent applied iCE (Intelligent Communication Enabled) network technology (see Press Release, January 18, 2006: SYSCAN MAKES RFID (Radio Frequency IDentification) A data collection technology that uses electronic tags for storing data. Mr. Bob Grasso, Vice-President of Logis-Tech, said, "Like other military organizations, NATO has experienced challenges in identifying and tracking vital items and parts in its supply chain. As the number of member nations grows, the logistical challenges increase exponentially. In order to enhance item visibility within the supply chain, NATO is in the process of creating a new standard agreement (STANAG The NATO term derived from "standardization agreement." See also NATO standardization agreement.  2290) for the implementation of Unique Identification (UID) criteria. Syscan's technology is unique and will enable significant upgrades to the new standards to be set for NATO's 26 member nations."

Pursuant to the contract, Syscan will design, produce and supply its low-power bi-directional dynamic communication network technology to track and trace mission-critical NATO supply chain materials as they move between countries and continents. The system employs Syscan's proprietary transponders, readers and UMCD's (Universal Monitoring Communication Devices) with GPRS enabled communications to gather and transmit critical data to the operational NAATS NAATS National Association of Air Traffic Specialists  (NATO Automated Asset Tracking System) server.

Mr. Striefler concluded, "NATO operations are, by-definition, multi-national in scope and by enhancing supply chain visibility, all of NATO's member nations will reap significant benefits. We are excited to have secured this huge growth opportunity for Syscan."

The Company also reported that the previously announced private placement financing led by Dominick & Dominick Securities Inc. is proceeding as planned and is expected to close during the last week of March.
