Sys-Con Media to launch "Information Storage & Security" & quarterly in May.

Technology magazine publisher Sys-Con Media (Montvale, NJ) will begin the production of two publications in May, including Information Storage & Security Journal (ISSJ), a monthly magazine, and IT Solutions Guide, a new quarterly title.

ISSJ will be launched on May 11 at the "Network+Interop Conference & Expo" in Las Vegas and will be targeted to corporate IT and information security professionals, CIOs, network administrators, MIS managers and i-technology decision-makers. The company said the magazine's editorial direction will be shaped by an advisory board and will be designed to assist corporate professionals deal with major infosecuity issues. Generally, the magazine will cover such topics as identity theft, cyber-terrorism, network forensics, perimeter defense, secure web services and encryption. It will also include information about storage "from SAN and NAS essentials to issues such as using ISCSI for backup and recovery."

Sys-Con said the magazine will be "the first and only storage and security magazine on newsstands and in specialty bookstores."

Sys-Con ceo Fuat Kircaali said "the industry is missing one great i-technology magazine that focuses on both storage and security at the same time, two inseparable subjects, one cannot exist without the other." An annual subscription to the monthly costs $99.

In related news, the premier issue of IT Solutions Guide will be polybagged with the May editions of Sys-Con's 12 monthly journals and magazines and sent to 100,000 (30% of total magazine readership) development and corporate IT managers. Editorial for the supplement will include information on "the most competitive tools, solutions and services available," Sys-Con said. The first issue will carry features on: delivering software as service; leveraging Linux/Open Source; moving to a service-oriented architecture; new desktop software; using development tools; application integration; and, storage and security.
