Synygy Rolls Out Single-Sign-On, Web-Based Multi-Site Software Architecture; First Sign of a Coming Shift in How Companies Deploy Enterprise Software.

Synygy Inc., the largest and most successful provider of Enterprise Incentive Management (EIM) software, today announced that it has successfully deployed Synygy software using the single-sign-on capabilities supported by Synygy's new multi-site software architecture.

Synygy's pure Java 2 Enterprise Edition (J2EE)-based Internet architecture allows clients to deploy Synygy software on multiple platforms, in multiple environments, at multiple locations--all while centrally managing the system and related resources.

With the growing need for global deployments of Synygy's incentive compensation and performance management software, clients are now able to host multiple Synygy applications at their data centers around the world or at Synygy's data center.

Synygy's multi-site architecture unifies the far-flung pieces into an integrated system, and Synygy's single-sign-on capabilities make it easy to centrally manage the system.

Using single-sign-on, users log onto their company's own network with their usual passwords and are able to automatically access Synygy's incentive compensation and performance management software, no matter where the application or its components are hosted, without needing to sign on again.

With the pluggable authentication capabilities of the multi-site architecture, Synygy software provides single-sign-on integration with virtually any external authentication authority.

For some companies, Synygy software has been the first externally hosted application to be integrated in this manner into their networks. Portions of the software are run at Synygy's data center under Windows 2000, while other portions reside at client locations on, for example, an iPlanet Web Server running on a Sun Solaris server.
