Syngenta and DuPont announce an agreement that will broaden each company's crop protection.


Syngenta Syngenta AG is a large global agribusiness which markets seeds and crop protection products (pesticides). Syngenta is involved in biotechnology and genomic research. The company is a leader in crop protection, and ranks third in total sales in the commercial agricultural seeds  and DuPont announce an agreement that will broaden each company's crop protection product offer.

Syngenta acquires an exclusive worldwide license to develop DuPont's new insecticide insecticide

Any of a large group of substances used to kill insects. Such substances are mainly used to control pests that infest cultivated plants and crops or to eliminate disease-carrying insects in specific areas.

DuPont acquires worldwide rights to Syngenta's strobilurin fungicide fungicide (fŭn`jəsīd', fŭng`gə–), any substance used to destroy fungi. Some fungi are extremely damaging to crops (see diseases of plants), and others cause diseases in humans and other animals (see fungal infection).  picoxystrobin, sold as Acanto, including access to companion products used in mixtures. Acanto is currently marketed in Europe on cereals and will be expanded for use on soybeans in Latin America Latin America, the Spanish-speaking, Portuguese-speaking, and French-speaking countries (except Canada) of North America, South America, Central America, and the West Indies. .

The transactions are subject to national regulatory approvals.
