La Opinion and KMEX had agreed nearly a year and a half ago to place a TV camera and transmission equipment in La Opinion to do a daily news report for KMEX featuring news analysis by the newspaper's political and business reporters, but those plans were stymied when La Opinion moved all 200 people into a new building last spring.
