Symphony Orchestra takes space at Kushner's Newark landmark.

The New Jersey Symphony Orchestra (NJSO), which this year marks its 85th anniversary, will be moving its offices and library to the landmark 60 Park Place building in Newark, where it recently signed a lease for 15,000 s/f. The lease signing was announced by Kevin Swill, president of Kushner Properties, which manages the 232,239 s/f office tower.

Led by Music Director Neeme Jarvi, the NJSO is composed of some of the country's finest musicians performing statewide on a regular basis throughout the year. Its mission of artistic excellence combined with community engagement is realized through a uniquely designed concert series and education/outreach programming. The orchestra tours to seven different venues throughout New Jersey, including the New Jersey Performing Arts Center, just down the street from 60 Park Place, and the syndicated AIG/New Jersey Symphony Broadcast Series is carried throughout North America.

"The property is a good fit for us, in terms of the size of the space and the location," said Andre Gremillet, the orchestra's president and CEO. "60 Park Place is a first rate building and offers everything that we need."

Dating back to 1925, the 21-story building is a classic fixture on the city's skyline and occupies a prime location in the heart of Newark's renaissance area, overlooking Military Park. The building also has a 24-hour attended lobby, and large windows with commanding views of Newark and the New York City skyline. It is within walking distance of Penn Station.
