SANTA ROSA, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 1, 2003

New IP Network Timing Product Line to Offer Most Comprehensive Solutions in the Market

Symmetricom's (Nasdaq: SYMM SYMM Synchronized Multimedia (W3C Working Group) ) Timing, Test and Measurement Division announces the launch of the IP Network Timing product line and its comprehensive time server solutions. This business initiative is a result of the consolidation and integration of the two separate Network Time Server businesses that were formerly part of Datum and TrueTime, two companies that were acquired by Symmetricom in October, 2002.

Symmetricom's newly combined line of network time synchronization products has been consolidated to provide a clear and comprehensive range of high-end automated time distribution solutions that accurately and consistently set time on enterprise servers and desktops.

"Business transactions, security controls, and system performance can only be trusted if they have time that is accurate, secure and protected," said Lisa Withers withers

Following the merger and acquisition of Datum, Inc. and TrueTime, Inc. in 2002, Symmetricom evaluated the Datum and TrueTime time server product offerings and consolidated to five time servers: SyncServer(R) S100, TymServe(TM) 2100, NTS-200, TymServe 2100LD, and NTS-150. Information about these products and other information about accurate and secure enterprise time server solutions can be found on the new web site www.ntp-systems.com.

SyncServer(R) S100 is Symmetricom's most comprehensive NTP server on the market. It offers enhanced security features, multiple levels of time reference redundancy, dual high performance NTP (Network Time Protocol) A TCP/IP protocol used to synchronize the real time clock in computers, network devices and other electronic equipment that is time sensitive. It is also used to maintain the correct time in NTP-based wall and desk clocks.  network ports, and upgrades to rubidium rubidium (rbĭd`ēəm), metallic chemical element; symbol Rb; at. no. 37; at. wt. 85.4678; m.p. 38.89°C;; b.p. 686°C;; sp. gr. 1.53 at 20°C;; valence +1.  atomic clock stability.

TymServe (TM) 2100 is a versatile time server offering varying time references choices, oscillator oscillator
