Symbiat Sells Computone Hardware Product Line.

ATLANTA--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 20, 2003

Symbiat announced today it has sold its legacy hardware product line.

Symbiat signed an agreement with Altura XL LLC (Logical Link Control) See "LANs" under data link protocol.

LLC - Logical Link Control
 to sell all of its serial I/O (Input/Output) The transfer of data between the CPU and a peripheral device. Every transfer is an output from one device and an input to another. See PC input/output.

The decision to sell the product line was based upon the company's desire to focus its efforts solely on Symbiat's service and support offerings to the marketplace. "The serial I/O based products have been the connectivity products sold by Computone, now Symbiat, for sometime," said Jack Smith, president of Symbiat. "The technology is a stable and proven solution for companies desiring serial connectivity, as well as remote console A terminal or workstation in a remote location that is used to monitor and control a local computer.  management. Symbiat has decided to concentrate on the services business and Altura XL has the skill set and the desire to offer the Computone products as a solution for the foreseeable future."

"There are a sizeable number of Computone customers who depend upon the availability of the Computone serial I/O products in the solutions they offer. Altura XL will have the capability of serving the needs of these customers into the future," said Keith Daniel, president of Altura XL.

The agreement calls for the sale of the entire Computone serial I/O product line and associated technology to Altura XL LLC. The payment terms of the agreement will not be disclosed.
