Sylantro Applications Feature Server Achieves Interoperability with Nortel Softswitch for Both Business and Consumer VoIP Solutions.

Sylantro Systems Corp. today announced that the company's award-winning applications feature server has received a Certificate of Compatibility from Nortel after completing laboratory SIP interoperability testing with Nortel's Communication Server (CS) 2000 (software release SN08).

The Sylantro applications feature server will carry the Nortel Compatible Product designation for business Voice over IP (VoIP) solutions such as IP Centrex A telephone service in which an IP-based PBX is located in the telephone company's facilities. It connects to the customer via the LAN rather than by telephone wires. IP CENTREX offers voice over IP and other IP-based services as well as connectivity to the regular telephone system (PSTN).  and PBX-replacement services as well as consumer broadband VoIP applications. Interoperability testing included a complete suite of standard SIP function calls, as well as advanced Sylantro features such as find me/follow me Telephone services that provide advanced call forwarding. Initially developed for the circuit-switched Intelligent Network (IN), voice over IP (VoIP) also provides such services.
