Antigen for SMTP Gateway provides pre-emptive protection at the SMTP gateway, relay, and routing servers running on Windows. While traditional anti-virus products scan e-mail by routing it to other ports or even after the-mail has reached the mail server, Sybari employs a more innovative approach through Antigen: it scans and disables threats within the message during the routing process. Antigen for SMTP Gateways scans all inbound and outbound messages using the Windows 2000 server and Windows Server 2003 transport event sink.
